Orleans United Methodist Church

Cora's Cupboard is a pantry located in our church. It was named after a member of our congregation, Cora Mayo, who was a principal in Orleans for many years and a very active member of our church. Members would bring canned goods and store them in the pantry for those in need. We also keep envelopes in the pews for those wishing to give donations to purchase meats, chicken, cheese, margerine, etc. for the freezer.

Our pantry is one of the pantries used by the Lower Cape Outreach Council. LCOC has a pantry in eight towns from Provincetown to Harwich. Our pantry serves those people in need in Orleans only. Gloria and Paul are in charge of the pantry and they see to it that the pantry is well stocked. If we run short on particular items, we use LCOC's main pantry to restock our shelves. There is a volunteer available from Monday through Friday to help clients use the pantry and get the food they need.
