INVOCATION (unison)
The Reverend Sally Norris
The
Federated Church of Orleans
O God whose majesty is
revealed in the strong ocean waves, and whose artistry is made radiant in the
crisp autumn sunset: refresh our hearts with gratitude. Keep us thankful for prophets and pioneers who
have gone before us to establish new lands and create new visions – may we be
inspired by their witness to imagine anew your realm of justice and peace. Keep us thankful for the bounty of the
harvest and the miracle of your beautiful earth – may we honor and preserve
your sacred creation that the generations who follow us may flourish with
joy. Keep us thankful for the abundant
blessings that have accompanied and strengthened us throughout the journeys of
our lives – may we likewise become blessing to one another. May we know and embody and be grateful for
your Shalom. Amen.
